Genoa’s Lisa Leady Wins Prestigious Award at National Grooming Industry Trade Show

Local Resident and Former Reality Show Contestant named Mobile Groomer of the Year at Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Award Ceremony

LAS VEGAS The SuperZoo pet retailer trade show at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas saw some of the best and brightest groomers in the industry gather at the 27th Annual Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards, the competitive dog grooming industry’s version of the Oscars. Among the winners this year was Genoa’s Lisa Leady, who took home The Mobile Groomer of the Year Award which recognizes an outstanding business in the mobile grooming field.

Leady is a Certified Master Groomer by the National Dog Groomers Association of America and the International Pet Groomers, Inc. She is the owner of Primp My Pooch Mobile Dog and is a third-generation groomer who has been grooming for over thirty years. Leady is also a member of Groom Team USA and was the #2 ranked groomer in the country in 2006 and 2007. This is not her first Cardinal Crystal Award; She has won Crystal Awards in three categories previously, including the David Salzberg Award, the Grooming Contest Judge of the Year, and the Congeniality Award. She also won the first ever Grooming Contest Judge of the Year from Barkleigh Honors. Leady was the runner up on Season 2 of Animal Planet’s reality competition show “Groomer Has It.” She and her husband also raise and show Smooth Fox Terriers under the kennel name “Pinnacle.”

“Lisa has great devotion and passion for grooming and always eager to help others in the industry learn and grow,” said Tony de Vos, President/CEO of Cardinal Pet Care, a major manufacturer of pet products and sponsor of the Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards. “We are pleased to present the Mobile Groomer of the Year Award to Lisa and we congratulate her on creating an outstanding business.”

The Cardinal Crystal Grooming Achievement Awards were founded in 1988 by Cardinal Pet Care President and CEO Tony de Vos and Shirlee Kalstone, then owner of the International Intergroom trade show for competitive grooming, for the purpose of establishing standards of grooming excellence and recognizing professional skills in the competitive grooming industry.
